This Cocoon Cardigan pattern has been in my stash for so long without being ever printed…!!!! But I was looking for new cardigans (because I don’t like sweaters or jumpers) and I looked at my pattern pile and bingo, the Cocoon Cardigan got chosen. I printed it and it was love at first sight: very few pieces, serger-assembly and tadaaam, a brand new cardigan printed, assembled and sewn in less than 1 hour.
I love the slouchy look of it and it won’t be the last Cocoon I’ll sew! It’s extremely comfy. I was a bit concerned by the sleeves and they do not bother me as I thought they because of their shape.
The Cocoon Cardigan Pattern (Jalie 3353)
I chose to cut a straight size W and the fit is great.
The fabric is a lightweight sweater knit from Lolieshop (unfortunately, the shop is closed now 😥 )
I like the ‘batwings’ and how the seam runs from the shoulder to the wrist on the top of the sleeve. Quite a nice and unusual aesthetic touch.
This is a rather long cardigan at the back (I’m 5’4″) and it covers me well. However, take that length into account if you plan to wear some outerwear over it: the cardigan might show.
I found the sleeve to be a bit on the shorter side.
Yeah or Nay?
YEAH! Next time, I’ll lengthen the sleeve a bit. It’s the perfect cardi for layering thanks to its general ease.
This cardigan is completely capsule-related since my ‘mum uniform” is jeans/cardigans/Skechers (Go Walk and Synergy, I love you so much!!!). I don’t really like sweaters because I feel constricted in them, but I must say that New Horizons’ Tami Revolution sweater is really calling my name…!!!

Just made this myself! It looks great on you. I’ll have to try the Tami….
I do love a good cardi and, even if I’m not really the sweater-type kind of girl, the Tami is so nice…I already have the perfect fabrics in my mind for mine!!!
Did you notice that New Horizons has a sale going on (19-24 April)? 30% off…code is SPRING30
