A warm jacket for her

by Elsa

She’s still going to school, but I’m thinking about he Back-to-school outfits already.

And I’m right since she will need warm garments for her new school.

Let’s start with Jalie’s 2795 jacket.

Jacket #2795

This pattern is not new to me since I have heavily altered it lately. It became a rain jacket (you can read about it here).

This time, I did absolutely no alteration and sewed a straight size P.

She wanted a plain but comfy jacket with no hood.

A funky jacket

Nobody will have the same jacket! This fabric is funny with its cheetah print and bright pink stars.

It’s also extremely warm thanks to its fur back. Perfect for chilly mornings when she will have to fetch the horses and ponies in the fields!

The pockets are deep enough and there are many great topstitching lines (that are hidden by this busy print).

This pattern is rather easy to sew, even at the pockets’ level. Your fabric should be stretchy enough to accomodate the cuffs and bottom band. Otherwise, use some rib knit, but bear in mind that rib knit is stretchier than most sweater fabrics.

Another one soon?

Probably! Sleeves are a bit long, but she told she likes them a lot. I could even sew thumboles on the cuffs.

9 to go…

Do you have any idea for warm tops for this future certified horse groom?

I thought that I could also sew some warm earbands with the same fabric.
