A Fisterra dress with long sleeves

I’m sure you have patterns you would love to wear all-year round. But sometimes, it’s not possible!

That what happened with my summer Fisterra dress*. I loved the first dress I made and decided it needed some long sleeves for winter.

Adding long sleeves

The only option offered by the pattern was short sleevesn with pleated sleeve caps.

I wanted some dramatic bishop sleeves over a long cuff.

I eliminated the pleated sleeve caps by matching the pleat lines and drawing the new sleeve cap.

I followed this easy tutorial to draft the bishop sleeve, based on the existing sleeve pattern.

The cuff was simply drafted with the height I wanted.

A winter Fisterra

Fabric is crepe from my Fabric Baron’s Mega mystery box. I shot a video to tell you more about it (well…”them” since I bought 3 different mystery boxes!).

Instead of fully lining the dress, I drafted facings for the neckline.

I also slightly lowered the shirred waistband to reach my narural waist.

There’s a Frozen vibe, isn’t it?!?
