Hello! It was a muslin so not the real thing. That fabric was totally unsuitable for the dress I had in mind (way too thick), but it gave me hints at what I needed to alter (and they were many).

it appears you don’t double press your seams? press seam flat and then press open. seams seem to be puckered and not laying flat

Thank you! I love that I’m able to sew basics and more elaborate garments. Coats and shirts are awesome, but I use more tops in a week than coats!

Thank you for the nice comment. It’s been quite a long time (and I donated this Castillo so…). I think that one half-band’s length would measure 48 inches at the max. It’s rather long since you will need two (joined at the back seam). You can even play with the band by making the hood’s band in another fabric( but you’ll have to measure on the pattern piece). Have a great sewing time!

Hi – your cardigan turned out beautifully! I’m planning to sew a Castillo, too, and would like to use contrasting trim like you did. How much of the black and white fabric did you use, do you remember?

Beautiful blouse! I think browns have come a long way since we were young. It used to be a dull « old people » colour but now it is made with richer hues.

It looks good on you! You mention the placket being wide – do you find the collar too big? Mine is awful on me (it makes the whole shirt look like completely the wrong size, which it isn’t) but luckily it fits my husband very well so hopefully he can get used to the buttons being the wrong side!
The collar is actually bigger/longer than the Melrose one which is an even more oversize style, funnily enough.
