The most classical outfit: top and pencil skirt for knits

I wear denims everu day, but there are times where I need more classical clothing. I had eveyrthing in my craftsroom: patterns that were cut and remnants of fabrics.

Minimum effort for a great outfit.

Karaba and Venado

The Karaba skirt is the epitome of easy! 4 pieces to cut and you’re done. AND it’s a free pattern. It’s only in French, but you just need the pattern pieces, to be honest. If you need help, ask me in the comment section and I’ll be glad to walk you through it.

It’s a pencil skirt for knits. It’s available in 3 lengths: mini, midi, and maxi.

I cut the mini and it’s not *that* mini (I’m 5’4″).

The Venado top* is a pattern by Itch to Stitch I had tested. It’s one of the most worn tops I have. The neckline and collar are amazing.

I needed another because I’m in need of basics. I love sewing coats and trcky project, but, in everyday life, I need more tops than coats.

I had it already cut in size8 and I simply altered it to take my low-base neck and shortened the shoulder seam.

More than classical!

The skirt fabric is some ponte I got from Minerva*. I used it for a dress (that didn’t fit at all!).

I cut a size 44 and flattened the hip area: it was way to curvy for me.

The whole outfit is great and can be used for many occasions.

It was a quick sewing project and helped me lower my fabric stash…!
