Here’s a very nice and quick sewing pattern I had been lucky to win on Christelle Beneytout’s blog. Christelle is a French PDF pattern designer (shop) and she offers a nice range of patterns mostly aimed at knits. Her patterns are written in French, but they are full of easy-to-understand pictures so fear not!

The Cannelle jacket (« cannelle » means cinnamon in French) is a really beginner-friendly for those who want some self-care sewing with knits. I chose a wonderful thick woollen knit I had in my stash (from Lolie-Shop, as usual for most of my knits), awaiting the right pattern (we all have this sort of fabric in our stash, don’t we???).

I’m not very tall (a mere 5′) and this jacket hits just below the fullest part of my body…! Which is great for me, but you might have to lengthen it if you’re taller. This pattern offers either a rolled hem version or the folded hem version (the one I sewed here).

I used both my serger and coverstitch, but you may use your regular sewing machine as well.

This jacket will be a staple in my wardrobe and I really need to so some fabric shopping for soft and comfy knits!!!
