Wardrobe By Me: Summer Breeze Tunic

by Elsa
summer breeze top

Just released, Wardrobe by Me‘s Summer Breeze Top is my new favorite for the summer. Light and flowy, it can be sewn either with wovens or knits!!! You know my love for Wardrobe by Me’s patterns so…here’s my take on this new top that’s part of the blog tour organized by Christina, the awesome designer behind Wardrobe By Me!

And first thing first: GIVEAWAY!!! Every day, leave a comment on the Facebook page Wardrobe by Me Pattern Support under the post of the day and you may win some awesome patterns!!!

I must say that picture were taken indoors because the weather wasn’t THAT summery at all…! And the Teen is now really keen on taking pictures of his mom because he can play with our Canon Eos 7D…LOL!

Technical details: bust darts help shaping the bust to prevent a too-boxy look and the lovely flounce is hi-low!!! Bias-binding around the neckline and the armholes and a nice V-slit on the front. All in all, once the pattern is cut, it’s a really quick sew, especially if you have a narrow-hem foot.

Hi-low hem!!!

My fabric is a mystery fabric that crinkled like mad once pre-washed…I had bought 3m of that type and 3m from another print and was really dubious as to their future use…! Then came the Summer Breeze Tunic‘s pattern testing and it’s just the right amount of lightweight-ness (does that exist as a noun???).

I did a size 10 bust blended to a size 12 waist/hip. I love the slight curve at the waist, preventing the boxy effect I dread on longer tops. I really enjoy the overall look of it and can’t wait to sewn other ones (plans are one made out of Liberty fabric I have in my stash and trying my hands at one in knits).

Pattern: Summer Breeze Tunic, Wardrobe By Me

Sizing: EU 30-50 (US 0-20)

Suggested fabrics: lightweight woven or knit

Thanks! Sometimes a fabric must wait for the right pattern 😉
