There are patterns you easily turn too when you want something cute to sew.
Bonn* is my go-to pattern for shirts. I sewed it twice in various fabrics: embroidered cotton and Atelier Brunette’s viscose ( an epic fail, unfortunately).

I used some floral poplin*. The background is more navy than true blue, as shown on the pictures.
I had already done some alterations to the master pattern, but I also added the square shoulder adjustment this time. It helps getting the back collar flat against the neck by lowering the slope of the shoulder seam near the neckline.
This fabric has a nice drape, but it requires a thin needle (70/80). Other wise, you will pull small white threads.
The shirttail hem is flattering in that it lengthens the leg visually. My own trick is to serge the raw edge (1/4″) and then double fold it. Serging gives a nice structure to the narrow hem and it’s easier to roll and sew.
I think I did a Bust 6 and 8 elsewhere. It’s now a bit too wide, thanks to an increase in sport sessions!
I’ll have to do a straight size 6 next time and that means printing a new pattern and do all of the laterations I did on the previous one!
