Itch to Stitch: Hvar Jacket

by Elsa
Hvar jacket, La Casa cactus

Who’s up for a quick sew of a great jacket!!!! Me, me!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of sewing the HVAR jacket by Itch to Stitch. Such a beauty and so easy to sew.

The Hvar pattern

Look at that cowl!!! It calls for a nice fabric with enough drape to get that look. So I took some remnant of wool-content fabric and tadah!!! One great thing to do if your cowl seems a bit too stiff at first: hang your jacket overnight and it will fall into place the morning after! M-A-G-I-C-A-L!

If you’re looking for a perfect inside finish, you can use Hong-Kong finish and have your seams lined with bias. Or…be lazy like me and just serged your raw edges…

The princess seams really help shaping the front (and back). It’s an open jacket, no fear of closure here.

Important

I’d like to mention a fact: Kennis’s just been burglarized and lost her sewing machine/computer/camera etc. So please share some love and buy either the HVAR or some of her other patterns. There’s a great sale going on with lovely patterns you don’t want to miss!!!
