Another Ethel blouse for her (pm-patterns)

by Elsa

Since she really enjoys wearing her first Ethel blouse, she asked for another one, but with different options.

So here is Ethel #2 and at the end of the article, you will find links to the tutorials I shot on How to Interface and Finish a Facing easily .

Ethel #2 is still a blouse, but with a double-layer peplum.

This is a rather plain and easy pattern, except for the length of gathers… I just hate gathering….

Since I had shortened Ethel #1 ‘s sleeves too much, I lengthened them back to normal. Same with the bodice. I don’t know what I have with lengths, but I have a strong tendecy to shorten too much (I did the same with my Mila shirt lately).

Fabric is a lightweight chambray with horses I got from Minerva (in exchange of a blogpost on their website).

For the 2-in-1 method for interfacing and finishing the the facing, you can refer to the tutorial I shot (the video is here, the photo tutorial there). That’s the way I do every single time I have to interface and finish a facing.

She seems to enjoy wearing her blouse with her new Polka bag!

So, are you convinced by this Ethel pattern because I am!

I just wonder which option(s) I’ll choose.

Pattern: Ethel

Fabric: Chambray

Notions: Vilene G700
