A cosy comfy cardi!

knit cardigan

Today’s back-to-school day and…it’s drizzling a bit so perfect weather to show you my Humphrey Cardigan (pattern by Fernand Tricote). It’s soooo comfy!

I used Drops Karisma in some teal mix (ref.73, bought there). There are teeny-tiny pockets (that I stitched wonkily so I hid them behind the cuffs for the picture…). And lovely raglan sleeves.

Oh, I love knitting sleeves two at a time. This great tutorial on Youtube really helped me.

Apart from an ugly mistake on the back, I did quite good on this 2nd cardi. I love how I progress thanks to the designer. And when I’m stuck, Gwen is always keen to help by email. So great customer service.

The raglan sleeves’ sewing was a bit tricky since I had huge holes before and after the grafting, but this tutorial was clear enough to help me through this phase.

Will I knit Humphrey again?

Yes for sure, but I might knit it in a smaller size since once blocked, I found it to run a bit big (I made teh alrgest size according to my own measurements).

What alterations will I make?

No pocket: they are so tiny I can’t even put a handkerchief in them! And shorter sleeves (I might have knitted more rows than expected…)

Any difficulties?

Grafting the underarm stitches was a bit tricky since I had huge holes before and after the grafting, but this tutorial was clear enough to help me through this phase.

Next knitting project?

Sigrid‘s already on the needles and i’m completely addicted to cables!
