{Test} JJ Joggers (Sinclair Patterns)

by Elsa

Let’s get back to some ‘me-sewing-time’ with Sinclair Patterns‘ newest pattern, the JJ Joggers. Since starting practising yoga and since the temperatures have dropped a fair bit, I needed some comfy garments.

Here come the JJ Joggers. I had already sewn one of Sinclair Patterns, the Laura Cardigan. I had greatly enjoyed the fact that you can choose the length you need depending on your height beforehands. I’m a Regular and It’s so nice not to have to shorten your pattern after printing!!!

2 leg lengths are available: full length and knee-length.

The legs are finished with a band. You also hav two very deep pockets.

The waistband is mega comfy, with 3 casings: 2 for elastics and one (optional) for a drawstring.

My JJ Joggers

I chose a size 12 Regular and, apart from my common “shortening the front crotch”, I did nothing else. If interested in the dreaded camel-toe alteration, you can follow this tutorial.

I used some sweater knit along with Kokeshi cotton lycra. This pattern is great to use your fabric remnants as leg cuffs or waistband. To make the waistband even more comfy, I inserted lingerie elastic in the casings (and omitted the drawstring because having it dangling in front of my eyes in the downward dog position would rather bother me!).

All in all, the JJ Joggers are a pattern that will find its audience in our family. My plan is to sew a Petite mini size for Miss G and I plan other Joggers out of athletic fabrics.

I even braved my fear of the chainstitch of my [amazon_textlink asin=’B0053G40MU|B00X5ZHSH0|B0053G40MU’ text=’coverstitch ‘ template=’ProductLink’ store=’lacasacactu0e-21|lacasacactus-21|laca0c6-21′ marketplace=’DE|UK|FR’ link_id=’9e6cf4e3-ca5d-11e8-a06a-bd53568580e6′]to topstitch the pockets and to sew the casings. That was soooo easy! I should have tested that before…
